DualShoock 4 features digital buttons
Sony has announced that the DualShock 4 will no longer feature analog buttons.
While talking to VentureBeat, Toshimasa Aoki, the manager of Sony’s product planning division, said that the latest controller will be all digital.
The advantage analog has over digital is the ability to feature pressure sensitive buttons. However, he said that developer support was lacking.
“With the DualShock 3, we were able to get analog data, which games didn’t really use,” said Aoki. “For DualShock 4, we deleted that, and now it’s all digital. The mechanism inside is a little different, and the data that games get is different.”
