PlayStation 4 to cost $1,850 in Brazil
If you thought the next-generation systems would be expensive in the US, you should be extremely happy that you don’t live in Brazil. We’ve recently learned that in this county, PlayStation fans will have to pay 3,999 Brazilian Real for the PlayStation 4, which amounts to about $1,850 USD.
Though the PlayStation 4 will have a $100 price advantage over the Xbox One in the US, in Brazil there is quite a large difference. The Xbox One will cost 2,200 Brazilian Real in the country, which works out to around $1,016 USD.
Some may be wondering why there is such a large difference. According to Sony Brazil, the reason is because of import fees and taxes. The company explained that $1,292 USD will be paid in fees, which leaves $554 USD for the console. They then went on to state that the games will run about 179 Brazilian Real, which works out to about $80 USD.
What are your thoughts on the massive price difference between the two consoles and/or the two regions?
