Capcom celebrates 30th anniversary with character encyclopedia
Amongst those of us who were gamers in the ’80s and early ’90s, there were two widely-believed truths regarding the Mega Man series:
- Those Dr. Wily disappearing/reappearing platforms were for the birds, and
- Capcom was a powerhouse, making solid games with great characters.
The competition has grown by leaps and bounds since the early days of the Blue Bomber, but Capcom still holds firm, thanks largely in part to their rich history of great characters. Including notable figures from Mega Man, Street Fighter, Phoenix Wright, and Resident Evil, Capcom’s character list is one for the proverbial books.
Now, Capcom’s character list is one for the literal books as well.
To celebrate Capcom’s 30th anniversary, BradyGames has teamed up with Capcom and DK Publishing to create the Capcom 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia. The book will shed light on over 200 on Capcom’s most notable characters from Resident Evil‘s Ada Wong to Mega Man X‘s Zero. Complete with character statistics and background information, the encyclopedia will provide facts on the characters from development to completion, as well as their associated games and series.
The Capcom 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia will retail for $16.99, and will hit store shelves October 21st. It can also be ordered through DK Publishing’s website, http://us.dk.com.
(But seriously, those platforms though…)
