What will Watch Dogs being delayed do to PS4 and Xbox One bundled preorders?
Ealier today, Adam let us know that Watch Dogs and another Ubisoft title were delayed. Needless to say, the delay of Watch Dogs has caused several gamers who have preordered teh PS4 and/or Xbox One bundles to worry.
The fact that the game has been delayed to Spring of next year has made gamers wonder if they would still be receiving their consoles in November. After all, the pre-order was for the console and Ubisoft’s upcoming game, so it doesn’t seem to be too far of a stretch to believe that those who ordered these bundles may not be able to get the console until the game is released.
Our friends at Kotaku reached out to Ubisoft for an answer to this question, but didn’t really get one. They asked once again, specifically, “This is a little disconcerting. Tons of our readers pre-ordered the next-gen Watch Dogs bundles – you guys really don’t have an answer for what will happen to their pre-orders? Should they just cancel?”
Ubisoft replied once again, stating, “We hope that players who have pre-ordered the game will still look forward to playing it in Spring 2014, and that the extra polish and quality we’ll be able to add to the game will ensure a fantastic gaming experience.”
What do games need to do? Will they be forced to wait until Spring to receive their next-generation consoles? Or will they be able to pick the consoles up in November and the game up (for free, as it was originally supposed to be bundled) when it is released?
We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
