For those unaware, The Witcher is an Action Role-playing Game that places you in the role of one Geralt of Rivia. At the start of the game, you are tasked with curing the daughter of King Foltest of a curse which causes her to transform into a feral monster. This task introduces you to the nature of witcher-work.
THe initial cutscene shows his attempt to cure her by surviving a night in her presence. He has successfully captured the traitor who cast the curse and uses him as bait to attract the striga (the beast she turns into), and manages to scare it away with magic. He then moves to the sarcophagus she sleeps in and shuts her out, returning the next morning to find her as a human.
Not everything is well, however, as she opens her eyes, which players note are the eyes of the beast he fought before, and claws at his face, causing the scene to go dark.
If you’ve been interested in the game, but haven’t yet had a chance to pick it up for whatever reason, now may be your perfect opportunity.
