BG II: Enhanced Edition to be released this year.
Fans will be pleased to know that the official Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition website has been updated. This update includes something fans have been eagerly waiting for, namely the game’s official release date. According to the website, it will hit shelves on November 15, 2013.
For those curious, this new edition will feature several improvements over the original game. Many of these improvements are most likely already widely known, so we’ll just cover two for now. The improvement that we will cover is the addition of four band new characters that can join your party of heroes.
The first of these four characters is Dorn Il-Khan, a man who plunders and defiles the entire Sword Coast at the behest of his dark patron. The second is the Wild Mage, Neera, who is being hunted by Red Wizards. She both evades and disrupts the Thayans at every turn. The third, Rasaad yn Bashir, is a monk who has left his former allies in order to hunt down the dark figure that corrupted his brother. Finally, rounding out the team of new characters is a thief (the name has yet to be revealed) who is in service to a mysterious master. This thief seeks powerful artifacts from across the globe in service of the master.
These characters will be bundled with the PC and Mac versions of the game, and be available as DLC for the iPad and Android versions. In addition to these four, the game will feature 30 brand new locations.
What path will you take?
