City of Titans appears on Kickstarter.

City of Titans appears on Kickstarter.

Fans of the popular superhero MMORPG, City of Heroes already know that the game is no more, but what they may not know is that it seems to be getting a spiritual successor.

That’s right, a brand new superhero MMORPG called City of Titans has made its way to Kickstarter, and appears to be the spiritual successor to the popular City of Heroes. In fact, this premise has caused the project to reach $50,000 in funding in the first few hours of being up on Kickstarter (as of the time of this writing, the funding was at $98,932).

This game is being developed by a group called Missing Worlds Media, which consists of over a hundred self-professed City of Heroes fans. They aim to “deliver a unique massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, created from the community of a lost universe, to build a new community for a new world.”

If it reaches the goal of $320,000, we can expect a beta in mid-to-late 2015.

What are your thoughts on this new development?

Thanksk Kotaku.
