The Nintendo Direct video today showed off a few new things for the upcoming Wii Party U. One thing that was revealed was a new House Party mode, which will place the focus on the Wii U’s GamePad controller. It also couples the GamePad controller with the Wii remote controllers “in unique, engaging, and social ways”.
For example, in one of the games known as Water Runners, playesrs will scoop up water from a stream displayed on the GamePad. Utilizing the Wii Remote, they must then skillfully carry the water to a pitcher displayed on the television.
Wii Party U is set to launch on October 25, with the physical version of the game containing both a Wii Remote Plus controller and a new horizontal stand for the Wii U’s GamePad. This stand will allow gamers to utilize the GamePad in more balanced and comfortable ways with the GamePad exclusive tabletop games, such as Tabletop Baseball.
