Xbox One is going to kick your ass. And your ass is going to look great for it.
Microsoft revealed a new channel for the Xbox One guide, Xbox Fitness. The new channel will be available free to all Xbox Live Gold Memberships until December 2014.
The fitness line-up will be recognizable to many people in various shapes, including my shape (round), as it will include popular and successful workouts such as Metamorphosis, P90X, and the notorious INSANITY workout. The technology of the new Kinect will be able to recognize precision movements and monitor heartbeat for work and rest periods for high-level workouts.
Of the Xbox Fitness channel, INSANITY’s Shaun T says the feedback will be crucial to killer workouts. “The Kinect sensor can evaluate your form, tell how high you’re jumping, how hard you’re punching and even read your heart rate,” says the trainer. “It’s that little missing piece of validation that hasn’t been possible for home fitness products before. Xbox Fitness completes the puzzle.”
Xbox Fitness will also include achievements, challenges, and social rewards to keep people active and motivated to work out harder and more frequently, or even to just complete the workout cycle.
The channel is slated for a holiday release, though it is unknown if it will be available at launch.
