Steam launches the beta of their family sharing plan.
That’s right, folks, the Steam family sharing beta has officially begun!
According to the official announcement on Steam, the first one thousand participants have already received a confirmation email and can start utilizing the service right away. They urge users to share their thoughts and any bugs that they encounter via their feedback section.
For those unaware, the Steam family sharing service is being set up to allow friends and family members to play each other’s games while still earning achievements on thier own account, and even utilizing the Steam cloud to save their progress.
The process is simple enough. Once a computer is auhorized by the lender, it makes the player’s library of Steam games available for those authorized. This allows the player’s family and friends to play his (or her) Steam library.
What do you think of this setup?
