Xbox One isn’t designed to stand vertically

Xbox One only designed to lay horizontally.

For those of you who like standing your consoles vertically, you may be disappointed to learn that the Xbox One was not designed to support doing so.

Speaking with GameSpot UK (via Kotaku), Albert Panello (senior director of product management and planning) stated, “We don’t support vertical orientation; do it at your own risk… it wouldn’t be a cooling problem, we just didn’t design the drive for vertical. Because it’s a slot loading drive, we just didn’t design it for both.”

So, readers, will you be taking the risk and trying to stand your Xbox One vertically? Or will you be happy leaving it lying horizontally? Or will Microsoft, perhaps, release a new version down the road that supports being stood up vertically?
