Nintendo today announced that the five sports from the original Wii Sports title for the Wii – boxing, golf, bowling, tennis and baseball, will return on the Wii U.
The five sports will be available as digital downloads in the eShop and will be in full HD with enhanced controls using Wii Motion Plus and will also include online multiplayer, which was a huge missed opportunity on the Wii.
Dubbed Wii Sports Club, the game will register players to state or regional clubs and will allow them to chat with one another using Miiverse during matches. Players will them be able to play against members of their own club or against members of rival clubs to increase their club ranking.
Tennis and Bowling will be the first two sports available in the Nintendo eShop on Nov. 7, with Boxing, Baseball and Golf scheduled to launch sometime thereafter. Those who download Wii Sports Club will get a trial pass that will allow for any game to be played for free during a 24-hour period. Once that period ends, players can purchase a day pass for $1.99 to play all of the sports games, or each game can be purchased separately for permanent access for $9.99 each.
So who’s ready for some online Wii Sports Bowling??
