Watch Dogs mobile app lets you impede progress of console players

Watch Dogs mobile application unveiled.

Watch Dogs mobile application unveiled.

In the upcoming game Watch Dogs, you will be hacking into systems and causing havoc throughout Chicago. Will anybody stop you?

The answer will depend on you, but you will have much more to worry about than the things in-game. With the new CtOS app, smartphone users can attempt to stop you as you move through the game.

The app users must send out a request to a friend playing the console game. Upon being accepted, the app user gains access o all of CtOS’s powers, allowing them to do everything that the supercomputer could do in an attempt to stop you.

One thing they can do is drop new police cars in to attempt to bring your hacking to an end. If you are the type to cause more and more chaos, you actually open up more attacks for the app users. For example, if ou’re murdering innocents while attempting to escape, the app user can explode a steampipe in order to blow up a vehicle you may have carjacked.

Overall, the concept seems to be quite interesting, and I for one, can’t wait to see how well it works. Are you as interested in the app as I am?

Thanks, Kotaku.
