New StarCraft II map unveiled during South Korean tournament.

That’s right, the popular online game has received a brand new map that’s a bit different than the standard maps in the game.

This map, called Fruitland, was released during the South Korea GSTL tournament, and is a bit… wacky, shall we say. As you can see in the above screen, there are giant bits of fruit scattered throughout the map (hence the name) which some players have found to be quite odd.

Many wonder why such a map was released, and some have come to the conclusion that it was created in honor of one of the earliest StarCraft II pros, who went by the name of Fruitdealer.

Are these people correct? What other maps will we see in the future? Or, if this is indeed a tribute, will the be the only one honoring an early pro in the game?

Thanks, Kotaku.
