Xbox One’s Halo to be called ‘Halo 5’

A new version of the Halo trailer from E3 looks like it has revealed the title of the next-generation game as Halo 5.

The company responsible for the original reveal trailer, Axis Animation, released a the new version of the video on it’s Facebook page. As CVG notes, it looks like the logo itself may just be a placeholder, though the logo that was shown at E3 did not have the number at the end.

Whilst the game was announced at E3 in June for 2014, it also appeared on the Microsoft Store at the weekend with a placeholder date of December 31st 2014. It’s already been confirmed that the game will be running at 60 frames per second and will feature cloud computing.

343 had initially planned for the Halo Reclaimer series to be a trilogy like the original 3 games though Phil Spector has since stated that, “While we originally said trilogy, we’ve actually expanded this to more of a saga, so we don’t want to limit the Reclaimer story within a trilogy.”
