Black Desert MMO has lots of promises to keep

Black Desert is an MMORPG being developed by Korean company Pearl Abyss. The game is a “large scale sandbox” MMO and it seems that Pearl Abyss is putting in the works. Black Desert is promised to have a multitude of things like resource gathering, housing, and even climate and weather. Players will be able to own their own non-instanced house and allow their friends to come into the house. Different areas will have varying weather and will require players to dress for the occasion. In a cold climate you will have to wear warm clothing. It isn’t said what happens when you don’t wear it but I imagine that your health will slowly drop.

The game will also have the typical MMO stuff: races, PVP, mounts. Combat will be non-target action based and seems to look quite fluid and nice. Aside from PVP players can also experience castle sieges! That sounds like a lot of fun!

The first closed beta testing will be in Korea this year. A set date is unknown as of yet. Russia will get theirs in 2014 while we here in the U.S. and those in Europe won’t be able to try out the game until 2015. Yikes.
