I will admit dear readers, whenever I hear someone singing in Japanese I am sort of then inclined to look more deeply in to whatever is attached to the singing. In this case it was Soul Saga. Now, to be fair I was sort of skeptical at the beginning that this might be just another typical JRPG…well it is! But it’s different I swear! …Nightmare, is that you? Joking aside, Disaster Cake wants to bring in elements from classic Playstation JRPG’s like Suikoden, Final Fantasy, Breath of Fire, and even Persona.
Like any good JRPG, Soul Saga is the story of a son who lost his father due to some epic quest. Mithos, that’s his name, also has a best friend named Elise who also happens to be a mechanic. Mithos wants to start a guild and prove to the world that he is far superior to his father by starting a guild and taking on the King of the Dragons, or the World Eater as he’s also known. Hm, now where have I heard of that before? Oh it’ll come to me sooner or later.
Soul Saga is fully funded on Kickstarter, but still needs Steam Greenlight support. The game will be released on PC, the Wii U, as well as the PS4 and PS Vita. Cross-buy for the PS4 and PS Vita have not been confirmed yet so expect to have to purchase the game on both systems, that is if you want the game on both the PS4 and Vita.
