Sony has remained consistent while competition repeatedly changed stories.
During tonight’s Gamescom press conference, SCE boss Andrew House made an obvious reference to Microsoft’s many U-turns on policies.
For those unaware, Microsoft has altered its stance on indie games, self-publishing, mandatory Kinect use, whether a headset will come with the console, their used game policy, and their always online policy (if we’re forgetting anything, please, let us know). Sony, however, has stayed true to their offering.
Stated Mr. House, “While others have shifted their message and changed their story, we were consistent in maintaining a message that is fair and in tune with consumer desires.”
He went on to add, “We stove to deliver a platform that delivers both power and great value. And the response we’ve receive has been nothing short of incredible.”
They also announced that their upcoming console will be released in Europe on November 29.
Will Sony’s consistency (and Microsoft’s seeming inability to decide what, exactly, they should do) work in their favor?
Thanks, MCV UK.
