Blizzard officially announced the first expansion for Diablo 3 today.
Called Reaper of Souls, the content will feature a new class called the Crusader, along with a new act, level cap, endgame options and gear.
The expansion will focus on Malthael, the angel of death, who controls the black soulstone, which houses Diablo’s soul. This leads to a darker game and new enemies, such as fallen angels. All the expansion will take place in Westmarch.
The new class, Crusader, is a holy knight that uses shield bash and the Falling Sword technique.
A new loot system will feature “smart drops,” centering drops around your current class. It also adds in a Loot Run endgame option that gives a random dungeon and random enemies to slay as you get loot. The Paragon level cap is also being gotten rid of.
