Hogan, Andre confirmed for WWE 2K14, plus new ’30 Years of WrestleMania’ mode

2K has today unveiled some really cool information about the upcoming WWE 2K14 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

First up is the confirmation that both Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant  will both be in the game.

Now their inclusion also highlights a brand new mode that’s called 30 Years of WrestleMania, which sounds pretty awesome.

The new mode will include over 45 matches such as Hogan vs. Andre from WrestleMania III, The Rock vs. Hollywood Hulk Hogan from WrestleMania 18 and The ROck vs. John Cena from WrestleMania 28.

We also know that Macho Man Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior are in the game, so it’d be great to see their WrestleMania VII “retirement” match-up, as well as Hogan vs. Warrior (WM VI) or maybe even the legendary Savage vs. Steamboat (WM III), though Steamboat has not been confirmed yet.

“For nearly three decades, WWE has inspired millions worldwide through the historic, cultural and undeniable phenomenon that is WrestleMania,” said Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing at 2K. “Through the 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode in WWE 2K14, players can now relive their favorite nostalgic and recent WrestleMania moments – from an incredible roster to authentic presentation and match play – in a unique and engaging way.”

The newly announced mode will be organized into a single-player campaign, which the matches formatted to mirror their distinct eras in the WWE, such as authentic arenas, entrances, ring attires and even era-specific graphics, filter and more.

In addition, 2K says they will present a roster reveal on Aug. 17 at 12:30 p.m., which is the day before SummerSlam.  The reveal will be hosted by Jim Ross, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Damien Sandow.

The game is scheduled for an Oct. 29 release and will include the Ultimate Warrior for those who pre-order it.
