Tommy Bjork details Wolfenstein: The New Order

Tommy Bjork, narrative designer for Wolfenstein: The New Order, gave us some new details regarding the newest game in the series in a interview taken by our own Steve Masters.

Story

Wolfenstein: The New Order is aiming to bring us the original Wolfenstein’s experience, but going in a completely new direction. The game will take place in an alternate history setting, in the 1960 where the Nazi won the war and have taken over the world. As players, we will be joining the resistence and we will try to aid them in restoring the world peace. We will fight robots, infiltrate camps and strongholds and have fun with it.

Weapons

– ’40 old weapons available at the beginning of the game
– ’60 weapons including advanced Nazi weapons after the first few missions

The game will allow players to carry as much guns as they want to, as there will be no restrictions implemented for the inventory. Bullets can be found throughout the whole game and they will be also stored in your unlimited inventory.

Gameplay

Wolfenstein is placed in a S.F. enviroment, so sadly there will be no zombies in the game. But Tommy Bjork promised us intense combat scenes, including potential assaults of Nazi strongholds.

We will also see Bethesda’s influence in the game, The New Order being a story-driven single-player experience, same as Skyrim and Fallout.

Wolfenstein: The New Order will be available in the last quarter of this year on PC, Xbox 360 , PlayStation 3 and next-gen consoles.
