A few hours ago we found out that Microsoft’s Xbox One requires a Gold Membership in order to use its DVR functions to record gameplay while playing. This is not the case with Sony’s PlayStation 4.

According to a Twitter conversation between Shuhei Yoshida (president of Worldwide Studios) and fans of the console, the president stated that the console won’t require an active PlayStation Plus membership in order to use the included DVR.

If we look at Xbox One, a lot more features are behind a paywall, a thing that could determine a few people to chose PlayStation 4 over Microsoft’s console.
