Animal Crossing Plaza app launches on the Wii U

Animal Crossing Plaza

Nintendo today revealed that they are launching the Animal Crossing Plaza app for the Wii U, which will be free to download and will be usable until the end of 2014.  The app allows Animal Crossing fans to meet others and exchange information through the just-announced Animal Crossing Miiverse community.  Players will be able to import images from Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the 3DS using QR codes and organize them in albums on an SD card.

You’ll also be able to post message on Miiverse using those saved images.  Within the app, players can also choose their favorite AC animal and view posts only about them.

The Animal Crossing Miiverse community also launches today.

Nintendo also announced that owners of the game can now visit any Nintendo Zone location to receive a Pumpkin Pie in-game item.  After visiting a Nintendo Zone, go to the post office in the game and ask about a present to get it. Different in-game items will be distributed every two weeks through the end of September.
