Amazon launches PC and MAC digital download service

A new competitor for both Steam and Origin services arises. One of the biggest retailers in the world, Amazon.co.uk opened up their gates for a new digital download service for PC and MAC games.

Called “Game Download Store”, the online service offers all kind of PC titles from blockbusters like Tomb Raider and Mass Effect 3 to indie games such as The Cave. You can also buy DLCs and non-game PC software like Microsoft Office, Photoshop etc.

More than that, if you don’t have enough money to buy a game and you still want to test out their services, you can always download a title from the numerous free-to-play games they have to offer.

All downloaded games, either buyed or free, are stored in your Amazon digital library and they can be downloaded as many times you want to.
