Crytek sites shut down due to “Suspicious activity”

Crytek sites shut down due to suspicious activity.

Crytek sites shut down due to suspicious activity.

Crytek is currently warning gamers of security breaches on four of their websites, and asking that, when these websites return, users change their password.

Said Crytek, “We recently became aware of suspicious activity relating to some of Crytek’s websites, and acted quickly to take those websites offline for security reasons.

The sites below are currently offline:

  • Crytek.com
  • Mycryengine.com
  • Crydev.net
  • MyCrysis.com”

They go on to asssure that not all of their sites have been breached, stating, “The following Crytek sites remain online and are not affected by these issues:

  • GFACE.com
  • Crysis.com
  • Warface.com”

Those that are being asked to change thier password are only the users that have accounts at crydev.net and mycrysis.com. The developer also suggest that those who use the same password elsewhere also resets it on the other sites they use it on.

The announcement ends with an apology, and assures that the affected sites will be up soon. Even though you aren’t required to, if you have an account on any of Crytek’s sites, you may want to go ahead and change your password, just to be completely safe.

Thanks, Blue’s News!
