Activision: Destiny has big potential, while Ghosts preorders “well below” Black Ops 2

Activision claims to be doing everything possible to support Wii U.

Activision’s publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg took his time today to discuss with the fans how he sees the future of Destiny and Call of Duty: Ghosts, both games being in a billion-dollar category and having a well established fan base.

First off, the company has very high hopes for Destiny, a game that they think will set the all-time preorder record for a new franchise. If this comes true, the game will join the third active billion-dollar franchises, alongside Call of Duty and Skylanders.

Second, Activision revealed that they are not as pleased with Ghosts’ preorders, which are well below Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. He blaims this on the people’s uncertainties when it comes to next-gen consoles.

Call of Duty: Ghosts will be released on 5 November for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC (next-gen versions are still in development). Destiny will be released in 2014 for both current-gen and next-gen consoles.
