Codemasters founder: physical media is lost cause. Microsoft made a mistake letting market dictate
David Darling founder and industry veteran at Codemasters made a shocking statement today regarding digital and physical media distribution.
“It was interesting how the market did pull back with Microsoft,” he says. “I don’t think Microsoft sold it in the right way – they weren’t strong enough. I don’t think they should have had a physical drive on Xbox One – it’s like having a dead body handcuffed to you. It’s dragging along this dead body and it’s going to slow them down. They’ve let the market pull them back but I think that was a mistake.”
Seems that the developer is considering that Microsoft’s U-turn decision regarding Xbox One policies was a big mistake. He also thinks that they should have been stronger and promote their policies in a good way, without listening their fans.
Is he right? Or is this another way to force those awful policies back on Xbox One?
