Real Boxing to launch for PS Vita on Aug. 27; first gameplay trailer revealed

Vivid Games’ Real Boxing, which is currently in development for the PlayStation Vita (and also being released for NVIDIA’s Shield), will be released on Aug. 27 (Vita).

According to the publisher, the game will feature tournament and multiplayer bouts via online and ad-hoc play.

The boxing game will let players work their way up from the amateurs and into the pro game, using the Vita’s analog and touch capabilities.  The game also has a singleplayer and training mode, with the game utilizing Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.

During fights, the game’s real-time deformation technology will apparently show the effects of punches take, while Vivid is aiming to bring dynamic crowds and broadcast-style commentary to the presentation.

Real Boxing will retail for $9.99.
