Microsoft confirms price of Xbox One controller and headset

Extra Xbox One controllers to cost $60.

Extra Xbox One controllers to cost $60.

Microsoft confirmed the price of both the Xbox One’s controller and headset.

They announced that the official price of the upcoming console’s controller will be placed at $59.99. The headset, meanwhile will be priced at $24.99.

Some people may be wondering why this information is important. The reason for this is that the existing 360 controllers and headsets will not work with Microsoft’s upcoming console, with the reasoning that Kinect, included with every console, can handle voice chat for you. They also stated that they have plans to create adapters to “Allow consumers to connect many brands of wired gaming headsets to the wireless controller for gaming and chat audio”.

They’ve also confirmed the price of the recharge pack for each controller. This price is set at $24.99.

Will Microsoft’s supposed adapter be able to connect the rarer brands of gaming headsets to the controller, or will gamers who utilize those be completely out of luck?

Thanks, Kotaku!

One more reason this thing is a failure of epic proportions.
