Earthbound community launches on Miiverse

Nintendo has launched an Earthbound community forum on Miiverse on the Wii U.

According to the community, it will serve as the “official source for the latest Earthbound news and information.”

Obviously this bodes well for hopes of any future Earthbound updates, whether they are related to a Mother 3 game or something else entirely. For those who don’t know, Earthbound is also known as Mother 2, as the original Mother was also released in Japan, but never saw a U.S. release.

Earthbound creator Shigesato Itoi also posted a statement related to the game.

Now that you’ll be able to play Earthbound to your heart’s content,
I hope you’ll play it with someone and create all kinds of great, happy memories.
I’m glad that this day has come.
And I think everyone who had a part in making this game is very excited too.

Your article is wrong on some key details here in the end. Mother 2 IS EarthBound. We almost got Mother 1 as Earth Bound on the NES, being completed but never produced and placed for sale. Just a heads up.

No problem, the thought of a possible typo crossed my mind a few minutes later, glad things are straightened out. 🙂
