Assassin’s Creed 4 multiplayer mode won’t feature naval battles
Well, in a few words, the most important feature in Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will not be available in multiplayer. Ubisoft has based their whole game on naval battles and pirates, those two being the entire theme of the game.
Today, Tim Browne, lead multiplayer game designer said that “You have to take into consideration that it took a very big dedicated team in Singapore about two-and-a-half years to do it for the solo [play],”.
Director Damien Kieken added: “One of the big added values of the naval battles in single-player is how they simulate the ocean. The ocean is really a toy. You have big waves, waves that stop your cannon balls: you have to play with the ocean. If you want that to be good in multiplayer, it means we have to perfectly replicate the ocean.”
It’s understandable that they could not include this big feature in this multiplayer, but my toughts on this are that they should not rush and release game after game, they should focus and make a really good one.
We should also took in consideration that they might add this via DLC at a later date.
