Battlefield 4 won’t support “cross-gen” multiplayer progression saves

BF4-7-1024x576

For those double-dipping on Battlefield 4 for both current and next-gen consoles, you’re out of luck when it comes to multiplayer progression.

You will need to play each platform as their own separate “career.” In short, you won’t be able to rank up in BF4 for the PS3 and start from that level in BF4 for the PlayStation 4.

This was confirmed by DICE earlier today via Twitter:

No. Each platform is treated like a separate career, similar to how it works in Battlefield 3.

While it might disappoint some Battlefield players, it should be expected since BF4 for current-gen will only offer up to 24 players in each match, while next-gen BF4 will support up to 64 players. This alone will mean that your stats will be different.
