Rumor: Microsoft to release Kinect-less Xbox One bundle in 2014
A source that wishes to remain anonymous has stated that in Summer 2014, Microsoft will be releasing a bundle without a Kinect.
Actually, this source has stated that there will be two bundles without a Kinect sensor. A regular bundle, with a similar HDD size as the standard Xbox One consoles, and a “Budget” version which will contain a smaller drive. The source went on to say that this budget version will be cheaper than Sony’s upcoming console.
Though this seems to contradict the company’s repeated implication that the console won’t function without a Knect, the implications could simply be a way for Microsoft to push the accessory.
If this rumor is true, it does differ from Microsoft’s Xbox 360 strategy, in which they released the Core and Premium versions at around the same time.
Will Microsoft truly be unleashing a version of the Xbox One without Kinect? Or will this rumor turn out to be false?
