Xbox One GameStop pre-order demand was ‘through the roof’ says Xbox chief of staff
Gamestop halted Xbox One pre-orders because demand was “through the roof,” according to Xbox Chief of Staff Aaron Greenberg.
“Demand was through the roof, so preorders stopped for now,” Greenberg wrote on Twitter.
The games retailer starter selling pre-orders for the both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 10, the day the consoles were announced. PlayStation 4 pre-orders were also put on hold due to “high demand,” according to GameStop.
Microsoft and Sony have no announced the amount of pre-orders for their respective consoles.
