Sony speaks about “hardware sales initiatives” in annual report.
Sony posted a report giving a quick overview of the company’s plans for their game division this fiscal year. Perhaps the most eye-catching bit of information, however, would be what they mentioned about the PlayStation Vita.
“For PlayStation Vita, we aim to secure sales and profit growth through various hardware sales initiatives and the release of compelling software titles,” the report stated.
This tends to bring to mind price cuts, particularly when we consider that Japan already received one this past February (SCE executives denied these cuts for the west). There are other possibilities, however, including one that has been rumored for a while.
We’re speaking, of course, of an aggressive bundling strategy. To be specific, we’re speaking of the rumored bundle with the upcoming PlayStation 4.
What sort of strategy will Sony be utilizing to increase sales? Will the rumor of a PS4/PSV bundle prove to be true, or will they have a different idea in mind?
