After being delayed due to a faulty part found during testing, the NVIDIA SHIELD finally has a new launch date…barring no more hiccups. SHIELD will launch at the end of this month on July 31st. Originally it was slated to be released last month, on the 27th, but was delayed due to the faulty part.

Also, if you recall the SHIELD dropped in price from $350 to $300. People who pre-ordered the portable gaming system will get a free NVIDIA SHIELD t-shirt. Oh boy, I bought this $300 paperweight and all I got was this t-shirt.

SHIELD runs on Android OS which will allow gamers to stream PC games on to the device. You can also purchase games from the Google Play store as well. Although I highly doubt you bought this thing to play Angry Birds.
