The first developer diary for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is now available, focusing on some background of the game.
The trailer starts off with the developers giving their reasons for starting the game in the 1960s instead of in the future, where other titles in the series have been set. Since the game is set in the past, the game will also show how the XCOM organization was founded.
It also focuses on the gameplay and the effect of permadeath in the game as they go through levels. Yes, like past titles in the series, the game will punish you for poor strategic decisions by losing key squad members if they die.
See the full diary for yourself below. The game is set to release on Aug. 20 on the 360, PS3 and PC.
