League of Legends gets a 2D fighter.

Fans of the multiplayer online battle arena game, League of Legends have decided to begin creating a 2D fighting game version of the title.

This fighter will be called League of Fighters, and the team behind it, Instaburst, wisely reached out to Riot Games before beginning the project. Riot gave Instaburst their blessing to create this game, so we won’t be seeing a lawsuit over it in the future (at least not from Riot).

This upcoming game will, due to the legality of Riot owning the IP, be free to play. We’ll post more information as it becomes available.

This has raised several questions among the League community. What champions will make an appearance in League of Fighters? Will some champions be as overpowered as many League of Legends players state they are in the MOBA game? What all does Instaburst intend to add in to this upcoming fighter?
