Killer Instinct devs and Mad Catz booed off stage for mentioning Xbox One.
During EVO this past weekend, Double Helix and Mad Catz representatives showed up in order to show off new fight-stick accessories for the upcoming console, as well as the highly anticipated fighting game, Killer Instinct, which had made its debut during this year’s E3.
Coming on-stage, the developers and manufacturers probably expected almost anything. One thing we can safely assume that they didn’t expect was to be booed off the stage as soon as they mentioned the Xbox One.
This reaction goes to show exactly what the gaming community thinks of the upcoming console, or rather, the upcoming console’s initial attempt at policies. The community has not really warmed to Microsoft after their attempt to force archaic DRM and always online requirements on their newest console.
It is unfortunate, however, that Double Helix and Mad Catz were met with such hostility, however with gamers booing off the representatives at the mere mention of Xbox One during an event like EVO 2013 shows exactly how core gamers feel about the console.
Even the streaming community had tons of comments along the lines of, “Xbox Off!” and “When is this launching on PC?”
