Rise of the Triad editor walkthrough video revealed
Interceptor Entertainment today released a new video showing off its editor for the upcoming Rise of the Triad. This editor will allow modders to create their very own versions of the original 1994 game.
This kit is due to be released after the game goes on sale (the game is due out on July 31), and is called the “Ludicrous Development Kit”. This name, for those wondering, comes from the original game’s highest gore setting, and features assets from the original release with a drag-and-drop editor.
Leon Zawada, one of the game’s level designers, stated, “We’ve made a set of assets that correspond one-to-one with those in the original Rise of the Triad. It’s really straightforward and it looks great too. We have everything in there including some stuff that was never used in the original.”
Interceptor’s CEO, Frederik Schreiber added, “It’s so much fun to play around with. You can create single-player campaigns, multiplayer levels. All the textures are basically as they were in the old DOS days. I can’t wait to see what people come up with when they play around with this. For old-school ROTTers, this is an extremely easy way to recreate the levels.”
What kind of stories and mods will the upcoming remake see created?
