Nintendo has confirmed that they will be releasing another major system update in October according to Nintendo Insider. Nintendo today released their system update version 3.1.0 U which improved some standby functions as well as stability and usability of the system. As to what will be in the second update is unknown. This is all that Nintendo had to say about it:
A system update providing further additions to system functionality is planned for release between the end of September and beginning of October.
While Nintendo isn’t poor, they sure are lacking when compared to the PS4 and Xbox One. Both Sony’s and Microsoft’s next gen consoles have superior graphics and strong launch lineups. Nintendo has been playing things safe with fan favorite titles like Mario and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. To pull out in front Nintendo truly needs to show gamers why the Wii U is so important to have and why graphics are not all that important. A new franchise and more third party support would help tremendously as well.
