Prepaid Steam cards heading to India
Cybergames India has recently teamed up with Valve to release prepaid Steam cards, also known as Wallet Codes, in India. This is likely good news for many residents who may not have a credit or debit card, and were thus unable to participate in any of Steam’s sales.
These cards, for those unaware, work exactly like PSN and Xbox LIVE cards do, adding funds to your Steam wallet once they have been redeemed.
Unfortunately, we do not yet know what denominations the cards will come in. If we judge by the US cards, however, it will likely be the rupee equivalent of the $20 and $50 cards offered at GameStop stores. This is just speculation, however, as neither Cybergames nor Valve have officially stated the amounts.
According to Cybergames, these Steam cards will be available in India “very soon”, though they did not specify a date.
How soon will India receive these cards? And are the assumed denominations correct?
