Petition to bring back Xbox One DRM now at over 18,000 supporters in under a week

Just a few days ago, we reported that some people have started a petition to let Microsoft know that they want the Xbox One’s DRM restrictions back.

While the mere fact that petition existed mystifies me, here’s something even more mind-boggling: that petition now has over 18,000 supporters!

Not only that, but the campaign is the “most active” petition on Change.org right now with about 4% of total visitors to the site viewing the petition.

To date, Microsoft has yet to comment on the petition and it’s apparent “success.” I don’t think I’m alone in this one when I say that I hope Microsoft won’t do another “180” and implement their DRM schemes on the Xbox One.

If you think about it, Microsoft can still implement some of the good features they were originally going with, but this time, we’re free to sell/trade our games and play offline, too.

What do you make of all this? Were you one of the few that signed it?

Thanks, GameSpot!
