God of War: Ascension new multiplayer mode and maps released
A brand new mode for God of War: Ascension has been revealed. This mode, called Bout of Honor, pits players one-on-one against each other in a best of seven round match.
This mode will not have any chests, fountains, or world weapons that players could use to aid them, forcing participants to rely solely on skill. It also disables relics, but allows for a Champion’s magic to regenerate (slowly) over time.
This mode will also bring for brand new maps that were specifically made for Bout of Honor. These maps are the Canyons of Kirra, the Chamber of Flame, the Landing at Delos, and finally, the Streets of Sparta.
The developers at Sony Santa Monica have adjusted several things specifically for this new mode so that participants will be able to fight on even ground. These tweaks include the removal of infinites, adjustment of overpowered weapons, and the adjustment of damage from 100% combos.
Players who are not yet ready to try this new mode will still be able to enjoy a brand new 4-player map called the Whirlpool of Alecto. This map, which is a nod to one of the great moments in the single player campaign, features a giant leviathan who is simply there to unleash physical pain on any and all warriors careless enough to venture into its territory.
Perhaps the best bit of news is that these feautures are all completely free, and are currently available.
Will you take down your opponents in Bout of Honor, or will you wind up as just another victim?
