In what could be a silver lining for Microsoft, retailer Best Buy has now exhausted their pre-order stock for the Xbox One and is no longer accepting online purchases.
Over on the retailer’s product page, it states, “Sold Out Online” and of course, won’t let people pre-order the next-gen console.
If you’re adamant in getting an Xbox One, the console is still available for pre-order on Amazon, GameStop, Target and other online retailers. Of note, most — if not all — these other retailers offer the “Day One” edition, which is a guarantee that you will get the console at launch, along with a year’s worth membership to Xbox Live Gold.
Is this a sign that people are warming up again to the Xbox One after Microsoft changed their DRM policies? For Microsoft’s sake, let’s hope that’s the case.
