Before former Microsoft executive Don Mattrick went to Zynga, he tried to bring Zynga to Microsoft.

Bloomberg reports that sources “with knowledge of the matter” said Mattrick tried to buy Zynga in 2010 to help Microsoft out.

The talks “ultimately fell apart,” according to the sources.
