Microsoft is letting Xbox Live members sign up for a public beta of the 2013 major Xbox Live update that removes Microsoft Points and allows users to purchase things with real money.
The update will also “improve overall performance,” according to Xbox Live’s Larry Hryb.
To sign up, users must boot up their Xbox 360 and choose the Xbox Beta Program tile on the Dashboard. Users will be required to keep quiet about the beta after signing a non-disclosure agreement to enter.
A FAQ about the beta is said to be available here, but at the time of this writing the page wasn’t working.
