With Microsoft’s sudden turnaround with the Xbox One’s DRM and used games policies, one might be wonder where will they get the proper venue to announce it properly.
Well, if CVG’s sources are correct, then Germany might be the place. Yep, it seems Microsoft will be holding a press conference at this year’s gamescom.
While no final date has been set, it’s alleged that Microsoft has already notified event organizers and third-party studios on its plans. This move by Microsoft is attain a better “foothold” in Europe where the PlayStation brand is known to roost when it comes to gaming.
When asked for an official statement, a spokersperson for the company said, “We’re excited to be back at Gamescom this year but we’re not announcing any further details on our plans at this time. Please stay tuned for more details!”
Keep in mind that this is still a rumor, but chances are, it is happening. For reference, Sony normally holds a press conference at gamescom and this year is no different.
