Halo 4 getting Global Championship

If you think you’re a good Halo 4 player, take note of the Global Championship for the game kicking off July 5.

The tournament, announced on Major Nelson’s blog, will kick off July 5 at the Rooster Teeth Expo. Gamers that aren’t there can start competing July 15 on Xbox Live via the playlist.

Gamescom in German will also have another live competition from Aug. 21-25.

The five weeks of free-for-all play on Xbox Live will require players to play in at least 20 games a week on specific playlists. Six finalists from each event and 20 from Xbox Live will travel to Seattle for the finals.

The winner will take home $200,00, with the other seven finalists splitting $100,000 depending on placement.

All participants are also entreated to win random prizes, such as 360 games and Avatar items.
