It was reported today on Kotaku that several game creators, thanks in part to the pleas of Brenda Romero, have chipped in to help an unfortunate game store that was burglarized recently.

The store, called I Got Game, had been open for about a month, and was uninsured. As such, when a burglar (or burglars) broke in and cleaned the place out, though the owners intended to try and stay open, they had no idea how they might pull that off.

Enter John and Brenda Romero. The two were visiting the town of Ogdensburg, New York, and decided to help out the store. Mr. Romero gave the store a signed copy of Gauntlet: Seven Sorrows, while Mrs. Romero posted on her Facebook page, asking people to help out the unfortunate store.

The response was Epic games and other creators that the Romeros know decided to donate various items in an attempt to help the unfortunate store restock.

The owners were extremely grateful to all of those that sent along donations, stating, “We appreciate all the cash, items and time that have been donated to the shop in the past two days. When this incident happened we really had no idea how we were going to be able to stay open but with everyone’s support it looks like we will be okay.”
